About Me
- Emma C. Johnson (she/her)
- I am a conceptual writer, artist, and musician with an interdisciplinary background. Themes I investigate in my art include the mundane, idiosyncratic, and ironic. My songs are personal. Experiences traveling influence my work. I have a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, and an MA in history from Central Michigan University. I also spent a year at Rutgers and semesters at Parsons Paris and Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. I am a PhD student and Graduate Student Instructor at Michigan Technological University in the Rhetoric, Theory, & Culture program. My interests include media (film, photography), visual culture (fashion, architecture), aesthetics, philosophy, rhetoric, socio-economic class, and neoliberal capitalism.
