About Me
- Emma C. Johnson (she/her)
- I am a conceptual writer, artist, musician, and activist with an interdisciplinary background. I love writing about social justice issues. Themes I investigate in my art include the mundane, idiosyncratic, and ironic. My songs are deeply personal. Experiences traveling heavily influence my work. I have a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, and an MA in history from Central Michigan University. I also spent a year at Rutgers and semesters at Parsons Paris and Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena. I am a PhD student and Graduate Student Instructor at Michigan Technological University in the Rhetoric, Theory, & Culture program. My research interests include media, walls, Palestine/Israel, Bauhaus architecture, socio-economic class, law, ethics, aesthetics, modernity, and neoliberal capitalism.
